Will Kimbrough and Brigitte DeMeyer very generously offer their audiences the ultimate singer/songwriter experience. Those of you who were lucky enough to hear them at Hopmonk a few years ago remember. Their music is pure Americana—authentic, soulful and honest to the core. In 2014, Will and Brigitte released a critically acclaimed, collaborative album, Savannah Road. Now, a few years later we have the great fortune to celebrate the January 2017 release of Brigitte and Will: Mockingbird Soul. It is going to be quite an evening—an exciting and intimate one!
Both based in Nashville, Will and Brigitte have independently released multiple solo albums. A multi-instrumentalist and the 2004 Americana Music Association’s Instrumentalist of the year, Will has also collaborated with Rosanne Cash, Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Mark Knopfler, Buddy Miller, John Prine, Billy Joe Shaver, Todd Snider and Mavis Staples. In 2014, Will released Sideshow Love—an in-depth study of all forms of love and a showcase of his incredible guitar chops (awarded the 2014 AMA Americana Top100). Brigitte brings her very distinctive vocals/harmonies and story telling expertise to the mix. Is it Southern? It’s definitely Soulful and the chemistry between Brigitte DeMeyer and Will Kimbrough is magical. Will and Brigitte are a—not to be missed—rare and extraordinarily rich blend of talent and passion.
From Will’s website: “Good stuff going on! The world may be crazy, politics may be ugly, but we’re out there making music—bringing a little beauty to the crazy world.” Yes, indeed. Join us on February 25.
